The Pax Arctica initiative, founded and led by Luc Hardy, was created to promote awareness of the threats facing the Arctic, polar regions and oceans, to convey a global message of peace, and to support the introduction of new ecological regulations. Pax Arctica pursues its mission through several complementary activities, starting with the organization of eco-scientific explorations to the production of various booksfilms and photographs

Among The Corals at the Wildlife Conservation Film Festival of New York !

Among The Corals - 26’ documentary

In the summer of 2021, explorer Luc Hardy and filmmaker Fabiano d’Amato followed scientists from the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute set sail for a three-week expedition on the Pacific coast of Panama to study uniquely resilient corals, known as Super Corals, for the Rohr Reef Resilience Project. A diverse and multinational team of researchers explore the reefs of Panama to uncover some of the secrets which make some of these corals resilient and resistant to the effects of climate change.

This new short documentary will available on Ecoflix from november 20 to december 20 2022 for the WCFF!

A 12 days expedition in the Red Sea !

Aboard a ship in search of understanding the coral reefs of the Red Sea

Pax Arctica accompanied the Transnational Red Sea Center on a scientific mission to Djibouti to study the resistance to climate change of the magnificent corals of this country located at the entrance to the Red Sea.
The coral samples collected during the mission will undergo DNA studies in the laboratory of the Marine Science Station (MSS) in Aqaba, Jordan. The mission brought together a multinational team including, scientists and students from several EPFL laboratories, teachers, technicians and Students from in addition to researchers and students from the CERD, the Red Sea University in Port Sudan and the University of Djibouti. A documentary produced by Sagax Entertainment, directed by Fabiano d’Amato will be released in 2023.

Pax Sargassum - 52’ documentary

A documentary film that travels on land and at sea in the regions impacted by the presence of sargassum (brown algae) from the West African coasts (Ivory Coast, Ghana) to the Caribbean (Guadeloupe, Martinique, Barbados, St. Lucia, etc.), the original area of this invasion, through Florida and Mexico, also affected by these problems. We meet scientists, citizens and entrepreneurs trying to understand this phenomenon and discover innovative solutions.

5 Organizations Fighting For The Arctic Region

The Pax Arctica initiative has been included in their recently published video "Organizations Fighting For The Arctic Region".The Arctic region is composed of oceans and seas as well as parts of Alaska, Finland, Canada, Greenland, Iceland, Russia, Norway, and Sweden. A richly biodiverse part of the world, it is being threatened by climate change. Pax Arctica is one of the many organizations existing to protect this unique place.
